On 11 February 2026, MAN Truck & Bus achieved an outstanding milestone at the prestigious National Transport Awards in Madrid, securing three of the industry’s most coveted titles. The triple success spans all key product categories — truck, coach and light commercial vehicle — underlining MAN’s strong market position in Spain and the high level of customer confidence in its portfolio.
In the truck category, the MAN TGX D30 PowerLion was honored as “Truck of the Year in Spain.” Central to its success is the newly developed D30 engine, which delivers a maximum efficiency of over 50 percent, placing it among the most advanced commercial vehicle engines worldwide. Combined with the new MAN TipMatic 14 transmission and optimized aerodynamics, the driveline achieves fuel savings of up to five percent. For transport companies, this translates into reduced CO₂ emissions and lower total operating costs — particularly relevant in markets with CO₂-based toll systems.
In the coach segment, the MAN Lion’s Coach E was named “Coach of the Year in Spain.” As Europe’s first fully electric long-distance coach, it represents a major step toward zero-emission travel. With a usable battery capacity ranging from 320 to 480 kWh and a range of up to 650 kilometers under optimal conditions, the vehicle combines proven Lion’s Coach quality with cutting-edge electric technology. Equipped with modern NMC battery packs produced at MAN’s Nuremberg plant and based on proven eTruck technology, the coach is designed for high efficiency and reliability. Series production is being prepared at MAN’s Ankara facility, with first customer deliveries scheduled for later this year.
In the light commercial vehicle segment, the MAN TGE Next Level — developed in cooperation with Spanish bodybuilder Burillo — secured the title “Minibus of the Year in Spain.” The 2025 model year of the TGE features a completely redesigned electronic architecture with new control units, sensors and cameras. This enables a new generation of advanced assistance systems, enhancing safety for occupants and other road users. The upgraded driver’s cockpit includes a digital instrument cluster, the MAN Media Van touchscreen display and an ergonomic multifunction steering wheel as standard. A redesigned dashboard further improves cabin space and driver comfort.
The National Transport Awards have been presented for more than 35 years by the trade magazines Transporte 3 and Viajeros. A jury of 886 transport entrepreneurs and automotive experts selects the best vehicles introduced to the Spanish market each year across ten categories. The evaluation criteria include safety, reliability, efficiency and profitability.
With this triple success, MAN Truck & Bus reinforces its leadership across all major transport segments in Spain. From highly efficient diesel technology to fully electric long-distance mobility and advanced light commercial solutions, MAN demonstrates its ability to deliver innovative, sustainable and market-driven vehicles tailored to the evolving needs of the transport industry.
